Ubisoft Financials Reveal Unannounced AAA Game Coming This Fiscal Year

It’s been a very busy day for Ubisoft. Along with unveiling Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and delaying The Division to Q1 2016, the company also announced its financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015.

Looking at numbers, full-year sales rose more than 45% to €1.46 billion ($1.63 billion USD), while digital sales were up nearly 97% to €382.7 million, which accounts for 26% of overall sales.

For a breakdown of sales by platform for the full fiscal year, the PlayStation 4 was #1 with 32%, following by the Xbox One at 20%, and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 tied at 13%. Wii sales, meanwhile, accounted for 4%, with Wii U at 1%.

As for their games, Ubisoft highlighted the fact that three of its brands were in the top seven best-sellers of 2014 with Assassin’s Creed Unity + Rogue, Far Cry 4, and Watch Dogs.

In a slide, they reveal the top 10 selling games of 2014 at retail, according to NPD and GfK:

  1. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
  2. FIFA 15
  3. Grand Theft Auto V
  4. Destiny
  5. Watch Dogs
  6. Assassin’s Creed Unity + Rogue
  7. Far Cry 4
  8. Super Smash Bros
  9. Madden NFL 15
  10. FIFA 14

Elsewhere, Ubisoft revealed that combined sales of Unity, Rogue, Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4, and The Crew are at 30 million.

Looking towards this fiscal year, Ubisoft confirmed that an unannounced AAA game is coming before April 1, 2016, with CEO Yves Guillemot talking about their other titles:

We have another very high-quality line-up for 2015-16, including new Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance games, the hotly anticipated return of the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six franchise [in FY Q3] and the launch of a new high-potential creation, Tom Clancy’s The Division. Thanks to these new releases, very solid back-catalogue and digital revenues, and favorable exchange rates, we expect to see a further improvement in profitability.

We intend to continue pursuing our strategy of in-house creation of major franchises for the entertainment industry. Driven by ever more engaged communities, the ramp-up of our high-potential live services and overall growth in the sector, we believe this strategy puts us in a strong position for the foreseeable future.

In a statement sent to GameSpot, Ubisoft confirmed that the AAA title won’t be revealed at E3 2015 and will instead be announced later this Fall.
