Update (September 15):

Konami confirmed that the update is now live on PlayStation 3:

Original Story:

Released last night, a new Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain update on PlayStation 4 and PC fixes issues with the Quiet mission bug, which saw missions 29 and 42 potentially corrupting your save file under certain circumstances.

We don’t quite know when the update is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox One, or Xbox 360, but Konami said, “The remaining platforms will follow soon!”

Taking up roughly 435MB, here’s the full list of patch notes for The Phantom Pain update on PS4:

  • Fixed an issue where under specific conditions, the game halts progression in the black screens displayed after clearing Mission 29 and Mission 42.
  • Fixed the issue where once the prior issue is triggered, the save data goes directly to the black screen and game progression is halted.
  • Fixed the issue where using the selection controls during the tutorial when first buying an FOB the game halted progression.

As for the servers, Konami said, “Also, we continue to look into server issues and are working on solutions for all affected platforms. We hope to implement these soon.”

More details about Metal Gear Online are coming this week during Tokyo Game Show, ahead of the online mode’s launch on October 6 for consoles.
