YouTube has announced that beginning next week, users will be able to sign up for a new subscription service called YouTube Red, which will eliminate ads in videos and allow them to be saved for offline viewing.
The service is set to launch on October 28, and will cost users $9.99 a month. On the official YouTube blog, the company announced that this service will extend to its recently launched gaming app, as well as its soon to be launched YouTube Music app, which, according to the blog, will allow users to “just sign in, tap a track you love, and see where your music takes you.” In addition to that, YouTube Red will grant subscribers automatic access to Google Play Music, and can be used on any device.
A free one-month trial of the service can be accessed when it releases next week. What are your thoughts on YouTube Red?
