Having served as an integral part of the company for more than a decade, PlayStation UK Strategic Content Boss Shahid Ahmad has announced plans to leave Sony next month.
Citing a return to games development as his primary reason for closing the book, Ahmad confirmed his imminent departure via a personal blog, where he expressed his gratitude for the past ten years.
This has been the most rewarding period of my professional life. I have had personal highs and lows and the company has supported me throughout. The last few years in particular have brought so many professional highs, that it’s been hard to take it all in.
Starting off as a technical account manager in 2005, Ahmad joined PlayStation UK during the formative years of the PS3’s lifecycle. In the years that followed, he then went on to become PlayStation’s Strategic Content director, signing off on such acclaimed indie titles as Hotline Miami, Velocity 2X and Mike Bithell’s Thomas Was Alone.
Shahid Ahmad will officially bid adieu to PlayStation UK on December 1, 2015, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
