From Vblank Entertainment, the studio behind Retro City Rampage, Shakedown Hawaii is a new open world adventure coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, and a Nintendo platform.
A release window wasn’t given, and developer Brian Provinciano only revealed a few details about the game:
Shakedown Hawaii brings the Vblank open world universe into the 16-bit era, powered up with destructible environments and an arsenal of supercharged weapons. Taking place some thirty years after the events of Retro City Rampage, the game follows The Player as he comes out of early retirement to rebuild his neglected corporate empire.
Asked for a bit more info, Provinciano said, “Yes, it’s a full open world game with missions, stealing cars, etc. — Check out the previous title, Retro City Rampage DX :). This one takes things up a few notches from that though ;).”
As for a physical version, it could happen, though nothing’s confirmed yet:
[A retail release is] very possible, but I’ll have to evaluate the potential time frame closer to launch. Might be tough to do one right at launch, but we’ll see.
Shakedown Hawaii will be playable for the first time at PlayStation Experience from December 5 – 6.
