It’s the weekend, but we’ve still got plenty of our “Best of 2015 Game Awards” to announce! Yesterday we revealed the best exclusive game of 2015. Today we’re to focus on the DLCs and expansions that have helped enhance and make great games even better.
There’s quite a bit of variety seen in the nominees today. Some seek to expand online universes, while others fill offline worlds with more stories to tell. Let’s see which DLC/expansion stands out above the rest!
Check out the gallery below for our nominees for the best DLC/expansion of 2015, and of course, the winner, too. In case you’re wondering, the winner is decided by the staff (staff votes) and not just based on the game with the highest review score.
Do you agree with our pick? Which title is your best DLC/expansion for 2015? Stay tuned for more awards coming each day this week!

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Developer: FromSoftware
"It’s such a shame that this is the only expansion that is going to hit Bloodborne. With a great attention to detail, and meaningful changes to single player, we can only wonder what other sort of innovative ideas From Software had in store for us before their plans changed. Still, The Old Hunters enables Bloodborne to go out with a bang, and a challenging one at that."

Destiny: The Taken King
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Bungie
"Destiny is not a static product. It is an evolving experience that changes and updates constantly. There are experiences and memories from year one that new players will never get to have. The Taken King goes far beyond a simple expansion, and reworks the core of the Destiny enterprise. It’s entirely up to you if the cost of joining or continuing the experience is worth it, but keep in mind that you are not buying a static single-player experience. I’d wager that a year from now, Destiny will once again be a very different game from the one that we are playing right now. This is the perfect time to enter the Destiny universe, and if the changes and additions introduced in The Taken King are any indication of how Bungie’s world will evolve, I’ll gladly continue to bring my light to the fight against the darkness. The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone
Publisher: CD Projekt
Developer: CD Projekt RED
"By taking Geralt out of his element and changing the course of what we’d expect from a stoic witcher, Hearts of Stone is a must own for anyone that’s been hanging on to The Witcher 3. The story alone is enough to warrant jumping back in, but the way it integrates into the existing game just expands the already massive scope of the world. It’s not perfect, and there are a few missteps in execution — most notably in the lackluster addition of runewords — but it more than makes up for its faults in the things that it does well. It leaves me feeling very excited for the next expansion, Blood and Wine, which is reportedly double in size."
