Following up on a string of teasers, clips and even design documents for the canned PSP title, Volition has released a piece of history today in the form of a playable build for Saints Row: Undercover.
Arriving by way of Unseen64, the unreleased prototype of Undercover can be downloaded via a PSP emulator such as PPSSPP or MediaFire.
As Volition’s handheld Saints Row game never made it out of development let alone quality assurance, it’s best to taper your expectations when it comes to graphics and gameplay, with the studio releasing the following disclaimer.
We hope you enjoy this fun little piece of Volition history! Let us know if you want to see more content like this! Please keep in mind that this is an early prototype of a cancelled project, so graphics and gameplay are not close to being polished or finished. Volition is releasing this build “as is” and will not be providing any kind of support or troubleshooting to get it running.
Unfinished though it may be, opening up Saints Row: Undercover for fans to experience for free is a welcome slice of video game history.
