Apple Rejects The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Because of Violence Towards Children

Already available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, New 3DS, and PC, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is having a tough time on its way to a potential iOS release.

As tweeted by Tyrone Rodriguez, who was a producer and developer on the game, Apple rejected The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, saying, “Your app contains content or features that depict violence towards, or abuse of, children, which is not allowed on the App.”

Following the original tweet, Rodriguez pointed towards Telltale’s The Walking Dead, saying, “The Walking Dead on iOS=violence against children.”

His most recent message says he was directed to the generic Resolution Center contact form by Apple and he’ll update when he hears more.

This isn’t the first time The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has faced issues getting published on a certain platform. Nintendo originally rejected it for 3DS due to “questionable religious content,” according to creator Edmund McMillen, but time and persistence eventually saw it getting released.

Up next for The Binding of Isaac is Afterbirth, a new expansion coming to PS4 early this year. Its status for other platforms remains uncertain.
