In the March 2016 issue of OPM UK, Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price revealed that what the developer likes most about the PlayStation 4 is the power and install base of over 35.9 million:
Power. That’s the big one for us. And having a very large playerbase. We hope people who made the transition to PS4 love Sony’s franchises!
One of the new weapons in Ratchet & Clank for PS4 is the Pixelizer, which transforms enemies into explosive 8-bit pixels. According to Community Lead James Stevenson, they’ve been wanting to put the Pixelizer in a Ratchet & Clank game for some time, “but we’ve never had the horsepower to do it until the PS4.” He then added, “It’s funny how much horsepower you need to make that weapon work – to make something relatively lo-res.”
Ratchet & Clank for PS4 launches on April 12 in North America and April 20 in Europe. Then, Insomniac will release Song of the Deep this summer on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
