Further clearing up the multi-part release nature of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation 4, Game Informer revealed in their latest issue that Square Enix is aiming to structure it more like Final Fantasy XIII, rather than an episodic series.
As Producer Yoshinori Kitase explained, “It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In XIII, each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense.”
Since there’s already a pre-existing story in FFVII Remake, Kitase says, “It wouldn’t really make sense if that isn’t encompassed in a multi-part series… So if we’re just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game.”
As for the changes Square Enix will make with the Remake, Kitase said that he, along with Tetsuya Nomura and Kazushige Nojima, who all worked on the original Final Fantasy, “don’t think anything is untouchable. That isn’t to say we’re changing everything!”
How long do you hope each Final Fantasy VII Remake part will take to beat?
