The Stage 2 Finals of the Call of Duty World League Pro Division will take place this weekend, the same weekend as EVO 2016. At least e-sports fans will have plenty to choose from this weekend.
The best from North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe will face off by region in Burbank, California from July 14-17. Today, July 14 and Friday, July 15 are the quarterfinals. Saturday will feature the semifinals as well as the finals between Australia and New Zealand. Sunday, July 17 will feature the finals between Europe and North America. The total prize pool for the Stage 2 champions is more than $3.5 million.
Thirty-two teams will participate in the Stage 2 tournament, and the top 12 teams will face off in the Call of Duty Championship. The Championship will be held over Labor Day weekend (the first weekend in September) at The Forum in Los Angeles, California. The 12 competing teams will be determined by their placing in both Stage 1 and Stage 2.
The Stage 2 competition can be viewed directly through the Live Event Viewer found in Call of Duty: Black Ops III on your PlayStation 4. It’s only fitting to watch the tournament this way as the Call of Duty World League is presented by PlayStation 4.
