We don’t know what the next big PlayStation 4 system software update will include, but Sony is already accepting submissions for the beta test, which is scheduled for early August.
You can sign up for the PS4 4.0 update beta in North America and Europe by following the links, and registration will remain open until the start of the beta in early August. You must be 18 years or older to participate, and signing up doesn’t guarantee you a spot in the beta.
Sony’s John Koller adds:
If you’re part of the program, you’ll receive an email with instructions on downloading the beta version of the next system software. In order to sign up, you’ll need a PS4 with an internet connection, and access to a Master Account. And remember — you can roll back to the previous system software, version 3.55, at any time.
Koller also said beta testers should sign up to the PlayStation Forums, as it’s where you’ll be able to discuss the new features with other testers in the beta forums. “We’ll monitor forums throughout the beta, and it’s always valuable to hear your feedback,” he continued. “We’re listening to all the comments we get to help guide the direction we take.”
More details on PS4 update 4.0’s new features and improvements will be revealed in early August.
What do you hope to see in the new update?
