Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed film starring Michael Fassbender isn’t out yet, but their film studio is moving ahead with another video game-based film, The Division. In their search to gather talent for the movie, they’ve already recruited Jake Gyllenhaal, and it appears that Jessica Chastain may co-star with him.
For those unfamiliar with Chastain’s career, she’s been nominated for two Oscars and has starred in little films such as Take Shelter, The Help, Zero Dark Thirty, Interstellar, The Martian, A Most Violent Year, The Tree of Life, and Crimson Peak.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures appears to be quite confident in what they have done with Assassin’s Creed, which will release on December 21, 2016. The film division of Ubisoft also announced a movie based upon Watch Dogs back in 2013, but they’ve said nothing since that time.
No production studio has been set for this project, but Ubisoft has a habit of stocking their planned movies with committed talent before shopping them around. Thus far, this tactic has worked in their favor.
