Brighton-based British studio, Relentless Software, is closing shop after nearly thirteen years of service. The developer was best known for its award-winning and multi-million selling Buzz! series of quiz games for PlayStation platforms, starting with the PS2 era.
This news was confirmed to Games Industry by founder Andrew Eades who said that all employees have been made redundant. It was only earlier this year that Relentless opened up another studio in Wales with government assistance and commitment of investment from Hasbro. Apparently, the toy company was set to invest in the developer as well as the community for three years. We’re not sure what happened to the deal but back in March, we were told that Relentless was going to create 70 new jobs over two years as it was supposed to work on multiple Hasbro-themed projects.
Our best wishes go out to the employees who have been affected.
