XSEED Games has announced that its action RPG, Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity, will be launching on September 20 in North America for the PlayStation 4. Costing $19.99, the game will support a full 1080p native resolution at 60 frames-per-second. In a press release, the publisher wrote:
Set in the ever-evolving Touhou Project universe, Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity trades in the series’ top-down “bullet hell” roots for an action RPG approach, drawing inspiration from series such as Ys while still retaining a distinctly indie feel. In a standalone story that draws upon the series’ 20 years of lore to characterize its two playable protagonists, players take on the role of the titular vampire Remilia Scarlet or her devoted maid, Sakuya Izayoi, as they explore a wide variety of environments and battle aggressive creatures. Fast-paced combat and the series’ trademark complex patterns and waves of projectiles will keep players on their toes as they fight to retake Scarlet’s manor!
In a separate press release, Daedalic Entertainment announced that its picturesque adventure title, Silence: The Whispered World 2, will be out on November 15 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. You can check out a previously released trailer here, and a synopsis below:
In Silence players accompany Noah who struggles to find his little sister Renie in the turmoil of war. Against all odds, he manages to follow her, only to find himself alone in Silence, the world he once traveled as Sadwick the clown. There seems to be no way back and Renie is lost in a war-ravaged Silence.
Together with his sister he joins a group of rebels, led by a determined girl named Kyra. They’re the last bastion of resistance against the terrible seekers – mysterious creatures washing over Silence in ever growing numbers, while more and more of the people just seem to vanish. It is on Noah and the player to find a way back home from this dangerous place.
