When Skylanders Imaginators launches on October 14 in Europe and October 16 in North America, you’ll be able to pick up a special Crash Edition on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 that includes Crash Bandicoot, Dr. Neo Cortex, and more. To see Crash and the new level in action, check out the above video from PlayStation Access.
Earlier this month, Activision brought out a 20th anniversary trailer for Crash Bandicoot in Skylanders Imaginators and the Thumpin’ Wumpa Islands level, with the counter tallying up some of the ways Crash has been honored in the game:
If you’re planning on picking up Skylanders Imaginators, here’s a quick list of some of the things you’ll find:
- A new storyline and gameplay
- New guest stars called Skylanders Senseis, including 20 new characters, 11 former villains (which includes the nefarious Kaos, who is central to the story), and even Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex!
- Creation Crystals, a new type of toy that allows players to create and move their unique Skylanders to consoles anytime, anywhere.
- The ability to bring in any of the over 300 (!) character toys from Skylanders SuperChargers, Skylanders Trap Team, Skylanders SWAP Force, Skylanders Giants, and Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure.
Next year, Vicarious Visions will release their remasters of the first three Crash games on PS4. Back in August, Vicarious Narrative Lead David A. Rodriguez talked about how the games will be remastered, not remade. “To answer your question, the Remastered Trilogy is just that, a Remastering of the original games for our High Definition generation and not a remake at all,” he said.
As for Crash Team Racing possibly getting a remaster, Rodriguez said, “Unfortunately I don’t have any current information regarding a plan to remaster CTR like we are remastering the original trilogy. I know CTR has a lot of fans around the world and in our own office, so we can all keep hoping. After all, this is the year that Crash got a new adventure, 2 figures and the remastered trilogy! So who knows what the future will bring?”
Will you be getting Skylanders just to play as Crash?
