Best of 2016 Awards - PS4 Best Graphics Game 2016

Continuing with our month-long “Best of 2016” game awards here on PlayStation LifeStyle, we’re now taking a look at what game impressed us the most visually. Like it or not, let’s face it, gamers are a sucker for pretty graphics and that’s fine.

What game did we consider the best in graphics for the PS4 this 2016? Check the gallery below to find out. Same as in our other awards, the winner was picked based on the total number of votes it got among staff, and not based on the review score.

Battlefield 1

The Frostbite engine reaches new heights in Battlefield 1, providing visuals that better the beautiful Star Wars Battlefront and a good enough frame-rate that stays close to 60fps, the majority of the time.

Battlefield 1 succeeds in combining impressive, realistic graphics with a smooth frame-rate, making for a wonderful gaming experience.

Uncharted 4

Naughty Dog has been known to push PlayStation platforms to their limits, and it's no different in Uncharted 4. Prepare for a feast visually as Nathan Drake slides, grapples and shoots his way across lush jungles, fantastic rendition of mud and dirt, and of course, those amazing set-pieces that Naughty Dog frames so well.

Add in an impeccable tech presentation, and you've got one heck of a package in terms of graphical showcase for your PS4.

Ratchet & Clank

While it might not be as technically impressive as the other games on the list, Ratchet & Clank runs at a steady frame-rate, no visual slowdown even when a ton of things are happening on screen, and the art style is nothing to sneeze at, either.

It might not wow people due to its cartoony style, but those who know their video game visuals will appreciate what Insomniac has done with this re-imagining.

DOOM

id Software has proven time and time again that they know how to make pretty games and DOOM is no different. Prepare for blood, guts and lots of violence all in one fantastic-looking package.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

If you've played Rise of the Tomb Raider, then it's easy to see why this game needs to be on this list. Just the opening level alone will make you gape at how fantastic everything looks.

Bonus points if you have a PS4 Pro since RotTR has the option of running in locked 60fps, 4K, or super detailed fantastico mode.

64-player multiplayer battles and it looks this good? Yep, go enlist us, then!

DICE, no longer shackled by the limitations of last-gen have finally given console gamers a Battlefield game that looks almost as well as it plays.
