Payday studio, Starbreeze, has announced a publishing agreement with Otherside Entertainment for its upcoming title, System Shock 3. In a press release, the Sweden-based developer said that it’ll help bring the game to PC and “other platforms.” We’ve also learned that industry veteran Warren Spector will serve as game director.
Starbreeze’s investment totals $12 million, with the company noting that it’ll recoup 120 percent of its investment including marketing costs. “Starbreeze share of revenues will become 50 percent after the investment is recouped,” reads the press release. “Otherside Entertainement will retain 100 percent of the intellectual property relating to System Shock 3.”
In a statement, CEO Bo Andersson-Klint said:
System Shock is one of those iconic franchises in the history of games that still gets my blood going and Mr. Spector is one of the founding fathers of the modern action RPG. We’re greatly looking forward to bringing System Shock 3 to players world wide in our collaboration with Otherside Entertainment and Warren Spector’s team. I’ll be first in line to play.
A release date and specific platforms have yet to be announced, however, a survey pertaining to the game previously did mention PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in a question that asked fans what their preferred choice of platform was.
We’ll update our readers when we have more info.
