In the latest Frontier News Network post on the Titanfall website, developer Respawn assured fans that Titanfall 2 will continue to receive DLC, and they’re currently working on prototypes for future projects within the series:
Titanfall has always been and remains a huge part of our studio. With two highly-rated Titanfall games under our belts, we’re very proud of what we’ve made and the foundation we’ve laid for the franchise. Titanfall 2 remains healthy and growing with new players coming in every week. Right now we’re focused on the long term future of Titanfall and we’re excited about it. The core Titanfall team is working away on lots of cool stuff, whether that be DLC for Titanfall 2, action blocks and prototypes for future Titanfall projects, or other crazy science experiments. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to take you, our Community, along for this ride.
Respawn adds that they remain “committed to supporting Titanfall 2 with free content as well as new Prime Titans, store items, and more.”
On March 23, Respawn will give out the first details on the upcoming March DLC. Then, in April, they’ll share details on what to expect in Titanfall 2 over the next few months.
On top of supporting Titanfall 2 and creating prototypes for future projects, Respawn is looking at expanding the Titanfall universe. They’ve partnered with Nexon, who is currently working on “other Titanfall projects including a free-to-play version of Titanfall for Korea,” and they’ve also “teamed up to develop awesome mobile titles set in the world of Titanfall.” Expect more details on the mobile titles in the near future.
Additionally, Respawn is working on a Star Wars title led by Stig Asmussen. “That project is still wrapped in secrecy and we won’t be talking about it for a while,” they add.
