In a video interview with Italian website Game Legends last week, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata teased that Square Enix might explore Ardyn Izunia’s backstory. “We do have plans for something like that,” he said. “Please look forward to it.”
Tabata was also quizzed about the game’s multiplayer elements and while he couldn’t reveal anything, he did say that the studio plans to conduct a beta test before offering the service.
Elsewhere in the interview, Tabata was asked if the team faced any difficulties transitioning from Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV, to which he said:
Since the hardware generation changed, we had to look at everything again including the layout, usable technology, and form of production, and alongside that renew the game content to be suitable for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One generation.
Last but not least, we’re told that Square Enix will introduce new types of gameplay via DLC, which will be based on the content’s theme.
