Received “overwhelmingly positively by both players and critics alike” when it launched on PC earlier this year, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun releases on July 28 in Europe and August 1 in North America for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will be available both physically and digitally.
A real-time tactics game, Shadow Tactics is set in ancient Japan and features a campaign offering more than 25 hours of gameplay. To complete the missions, you’ll need to simultaneously control up to five characters, each with their own unique skills.
Mimimi Productions Technical Director Frieder Mielke talked about bringing Shadow Tactics to PS4 and Xbox One:
Porting Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun to console was a big challenge. We wanted to make sure that console players would be able to enjoy the exact same experience as on PC, and I believe we’ve achieved that. But no one can be a better judge of that than the players, and that’s why we also decided to release a demo version for both platforms, so that every console player can try the game for free and decide for themselves.
As Mielke mentioned, there will be a demo of Shadow Tactics available on launch day. It will let you play through the first map in its entirety and give a short glimpse of the second map.
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is priced at $49.99 USD on consoles.
