It’s almost here, people! In just a few short days, the biggest gaming event of the year — E3 2017 — will commence, which will bring with it, a host of new game announcements, previews, trailers and a lot more.
While E3 is a time where the year’s soon-to-be-released games are given a sneak peek to the gaming media (us), we all know that the highlight of the event are the press conferences. Fortunately for us, they’re spread out this time with EA kicking it off (June 10), followed by Microsoft and Bethesda’s the following day (June 11), and Ubisoft and Sony’s on the June 12.
In this week’s Now Loading, the PlayStation LifeStyle crew takes on video game-dom’s Super Bowl picks with our E3 2017 predictions!
Did someone on staff have the same E3 2017 predictions as you? What do you guess will be revealed and announced at the numerous press conferences happening over the weekend?
Don’t forget to keep your eyes locked to PlayStation LifeStyle as we’ll have the most comprehensive PlayStation coverage in the world. Not only will we have people on the show floor, but the home team will be toiling away all day and night to bring you the latest news.
Now Loading is a recurring staff-driven feature where PlayStation LifeStyle discusses anything video game-related under the sun (yes, even non-Sony platforms).

I'm going with God of War release date, possibly a brand new IP, and maybe a price drop on the Pro to offset Scorpio and expand its user base. Elsewhere, a new Wolfenstein.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they'll announce or tease a new portable console. Agree with the price drop on the Pro though to coincide with the Scorpio reveal.

A new Vita successor! I kid, but secretly kinda wish for one...Anyway I'd say we get a lot of launch dates, including God of War, Dreams, Insomniac's Spider-Man, and others that I can't remember right now. I don't think we'll get any new home console announcements, because Sony is on top and doesn't really need to stress over the Scorpio too much at this point, so perhaps we'll see some prices drop. -

They'll start off with an onslaught of upcoming games like God of War, Spider-man, Detroit and Days Gone. They will review their deals with third party games like Destiny 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Call of Duty: WWII. Next will come a price drop for PS4 Pro and they'll stress that they didn't make the PS4 Pro too powerful because they didn't want to fracture the PS4 audience. There will be two big PSVR game reveals connected to long-standing PlayStation franchises. As far as big surprises go, we'll see Sunset Overdrive on PS4, the return of SOCOM and the announcement of PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale 2. Before the show ends, The Last of Us Part 2 will get another trailer and get dated for 2018.

Sony's going to be doubling down on VR with a strong showing that supports the virtual reality platform. I also think we'll see a price drop on the PS4 Pro as a way to offset whatever Microsoft brings to the table with Scorpio. In terms of third party announcements, it feels like we're getting more and more of those before E3, like Destiny 2 and Far Cry 5, so hopefully they've got a few more surprises to reveal next week.

No prediction, but I will issue a warning. If E3 does NOT show us the games, FinchStrife, Paulmichael "T3mpr1x" Contreras, and I will engage in disciplined self-immolation on the disgusting floor.

Figure Sony will announce a price drop, a couple of release dates, show off at least 2 new IPs, and then shock us all with the announcement of a Move 2 bundled with a new Wonderbook.

I expect a new IP announcement from EA (most likely BioWare's new IP), maybe a PS4 Pro price drop to combat Scorpio and a few game reveals.
Nothing fancy. Just give me game reveals and good game trailers that will have realistic release dates attached to them.
What I'm not expecting is a new handheld announcement from Sony, or anything that concerns the PS5.

I'm expecting Sony to focus heavily on PlayStation VR, and the range of exclusives coming to PS4 over the next couple of years. With Microsoft and Scorpio to compete with, Sony will need to pull out all the stops to keep hold of the spotlight.
