E3 2017 – Assassin’s Creed Origins Will Not Have Online Multiplayer, Will Have Multiple Protagonists

One of the bigger games showcased this year at E3 is the latest installment of the long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Origins. And during YouTube’s E3 Coliseum panel, the game’s director Ashraf Ismail has confirmed that online multiplayer will not be returning to the new installment.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is primarily a single-player experience. We do have online features that are there to enhance that experience. Later in the (marketing) campaign, we’ll get into more details about those online features but it’s primarily a single-player experience.

It also looks like there will be more than just one playable character in Assassin’s Creed Origins. In response to a question about playable female protagonists, Ismail had this to say:

This is primarily Ba-Yek’s story. We do have other playable characters that are played in select quests. There are other playable characters in the story but it is primarily Ba-Yek’s story.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is scheduled for release on October 27, 2017, for the PlayStation 4 and other platforms.
