Update: An official press release just came our way, and we’ve got additional information.
“As long-time fans of the entire Jurassic series we’re thrilled to be putting players in charge of their own Jurassic World,” said Frontier’s Chief Creative Officer, Jonny Watts. “We’re excited to bring over fifteen years of management, simulation, and creature development expertise to a destination and franchise that remains an inspiration to us.”
Additional info straight from developer Frontier:
Jurassic World Evolution evolves players’ relationship with the Jurassic World film franchise, placing them in control of operations on the legendary island of Isla Nublar and the surrounding islands of the Muertes Archipelago. Players will build their own Jurassic World as they bioengineer new dinosaur breeds and construct attractions, containment and research facilities. Every choice leads to a different path and spectacular challenges arise when ‘life finds a way.’
Original Story: From the company behind Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster, you can finally get a chance to create your own dinosaur park in Jurassic World Evolution. Revealed at the Xbox gamescom press conference, the reveal trailer highlights all of the dangers and wonders behind building a theme park that features dinosaurs.
Jurassic World Evolution looks like a builder game, which is a woefully underrepresented genre on consoles. From the looks of the trailer, it could reach the same kind of quality level that builder games like Tropico 5 have achieved with a controller.
Jurassic World Evolution is coming Summer of 2018 to PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but if you want to get a look at something else that Frontier Developments has worked on, check out our review of Elite Dangerous.
“Elite Dangerous is a massive, living game with plenty to see and do. Like a lot of sandbox, open-world games, you get out what you put in to the game. The various systems at play, including flight mechanics, are just complicated enough to be believable, while not hindering gameplay. It also helps that the game looks gorgeous, and runs solidly. While the online-required aspect may become an issue if the servers shut down years from now, in the meantime, Elite Dangerous could very well be a game that you play all through the summer, and then some. It’s a game that all sci-fi fans must play.”
If Elite Dangerous is a game that all sci-fi fans must play, then I’m hoping Jurassic World Evolution ends up being a game that all dinosaur fans must play. We’ll keep you updated as more is revealed about Jurassic World Evolution, and all of the news from gamescom 2017 this week.

Preview
We got to check out the game at E3 2017. Here's what Chandler Wood had to say in his preview:
"From the moment the first Uncharted released, Naughty Dog captured a certain magic that has only ever reignited in other Uncharted games. I’m personally not ready to put my treasure hunting days behind me, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy looks to be the perfect new Uncharted game in spite of Uncharted 4 being the end of Drake’s journey. Replacing a beloved main character that’s had a place in our hearts for nearly a decade is a monumental task bigger than an Uncharted set piece, but Chloe is more than capable of taking on the lead role in this expansion turned full release while still calling it an Uncharted game."

Gameplay Demo

Review
PlayStation LifeStyle awarded the action-adventure title a 9/10 in its review. Here's how reviewer Paulmichael Contreras summed up the experience:
"Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a fun addition to the consistently solid Uncharted franchise. While this entry may be quite a bit shorter than the main numbered games, that doesn’t mean the key components that constitute an Uncharted game aren’t just as present. Indeed, you’ll rarely see a game with this high of production values for only $39.99. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a tight, action-packed adventure in India, and a trip well worth taking."
