With just over two lefts until Gran Turismo Sport arrives, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has address plans for the game’s future content.
Speaking with the official Japanese PlayStation Blog, Yamauchi confirmed that he and the team behind the game will be going back to a more traditional approach for the game. Instead of the hundreds of cars found in the past games, Sport features a much smaller collection of vehicles. According to Yamauchi, however, this doesn’t mean that more aren’t on the way (translation via GTPlanet):
“I am planning to add it by update or download contents. The reason why sports cars, especially racing cars, was needed from the beginning was that we had to prepare all the categories of race cars for the FIA championship this time. At first glance it seems that the gravity is inclined to that, but not only sports cars, but also old cars, family cars everyone carries, or old classic cars, such cars are also important as ‘Gran Turismo’ Because it exists, I want to add more and more.”
This is the first time we’ve seen any concrete information on any DLC for the upcoming racing game, but fans will surely be happy to know that there seems to be a solid plan for post-launch content.
Gran Turismo Sport Launches on October 17 for the PlayStation 4.
