Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia (SIEJA) has just posted a teaser trailer for a new game codenamed True End of Century RPG, which will be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, at their PlayStation Japan YouTube channel. No further details are revealed, including which company is developing this game. However, since this teaser is posted by SIEJA, one might assume that this will be a first-party game [Ed Note: although they’ve published teasers for third-party games in the past].
In Japan, End of Century may refer to a post-apocalyptic world setting which is also used in titles such as Fist of the North Star and Mad Max. In this trailer, you can see anime-styled characters drawn with cel-shading, riding tanks and other vehicles equipped with weapons, moving in vast deserts filled with ruined buildings. The Japanese quotes in the trailer hint that an unknown kind of enemy has been wreaking havoc in this world for years, intent on killing every human. And near the end of the video, a supposed hero character stands up to end this oppression.
Finally, here is the translation of the teaser trailer’s description.
The world has ended.
What remains of it…?The True End of Century RPG is born.
On October 26th, 2017, everything will be revealed.
Stay tuned as SIEJA will announce more information about this True End of Century RPG next week on October 26.
