It’s official–we know when EVO 2018 will be next year! The fighting game mega-event will be taking place August 3-5 2018, and it’ll take place in Mandalay Bay, the same venue as last year. Make sure to mark your calendars!
EVO released a trailer for this announcement on Twitter:
Last year, EVO 2017 had quite a line-up for tournaments. Some of the games included were:
- Street Fighter V
- The King of Fighters XIV
- BlazBlue Central Fiction
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- Tekken 7
- Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator
There were plenty more games on show too. Basically any fighting game with a following gets a spot at EVO. For EVO 2018 we should expect most of the main-stays like Street Fighter, but I’m sure we’ll also see Dragon Ball FighterZ and other early 2018 fighting game releases in EVO 2018.
EVO is also the event for new fighting game oriented announcements! Last year we got the first playable demo for ARIKA’s Mysterious Fighting Game (which still doesn’t have an official name), as well as a character reveal for Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. What announcements will we get next year?
Are there any particular games or match-ups you’re hoping to see in EVO 2018?
