PlayStation Awards 2017 Winners Announced

Sony Interactive Entertainment has today held the PlayStation Awards 2017, giving awards to games released on PlayStation platform by September 30, 2017, that have recorded tremendous sales in Japan and Asia. You can read the full list of the award winners right below.

Users’ Choice Award

This award is given to the top 10 games voted the most by users in Japan and Asia.

  • Battlefield 1 – Electronic Arts
  • Final Fantasy XV – Square Enix
  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – Capcom
  • Nioh – Koei Tecmo Games
  • NieR: Automata – Square Enix
  • Horizon Zero Dawn – Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Persona 5 – Atlus
  • Ys VIII -Lacrimosa of Dana- – Nihon Falcom
  • Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Square Enix
  • Uncharted: The Lost Legacy – Sony Interactive Entertainment

Indie Games & Game Developers Award

This award is given to three indie and digital-only games that contribute to the game lineup in Japan and Asia.

  • Mystery Gensokyo TOD -Reloaded- – Mediascape
  • 3on3 Freestyle – Joycity Corporation
  • Undertale – 8-4

PlayStation VR Award

This award is given to the top 3 VR games that contribute to PlayStation VR the most.

  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – Capcom
  • Farpoint – Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Summer Lesson: Allison Snow – Bandai Namco Entertainment

PlayStation Network Award

This award is given to the top 3 games with the highest network content sales.

  • Phantasy Star Online 2 – SEGA Games
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – Ubisoft
  • FIFA 17 – Electronic Arts

Gold Prize

Games that have sold over 500,000 copies in Japan and Asia by September 30, 2017, received a Gold Prize. There are eleven games that won the prize this year.

  • Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection – Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – Ubisoft
  • FIFA 17 – Electronic Arts
  • FIFA 18 – Electronic Arts
  • Battlefield 1 – Electronic Arts
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Activision (published by SIE in Japan)
  • Yakuza 6: The Song of Life – SEGA Games
  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – Capcom
  • Nioh – Koei Tecmo Games
  • NieR: Automata – Square Enix
  • Horizon Zero Dawn – Sony Interactive Entertainment

Platinum Prize

Games that have sold over one million copies in Japan and Asia by September 30, 2017, received a Platinum Prize. There are three games that won the prize this year.

  • Grand Theft Auto V – Rockstar Games
  • Final Fantasy XV – Square Enix
  • Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Square Enix

Double Platinum Prize

Finally, this is an even more prestigious award given to games that manage to sell over two million copies in Japan and Asia by September 30, 2017. One game manages to take the prize this year.

  • Minecraft – Mojang AB (Combined sales from PS4, PS3, and PS Vita versions)
