The zombie shooter Days Gone was set to be one of the marquee titles for Sony’s 2018 release calendar, but now it won’t be that way. That’s because ambitious game was delayed into 2019. This is a blow to Sony, but is it a big one?
That’s why the question we posed in this week’s Now Loading was “Days Gone has been delayed until 2019, which means that Sony loses one of its biggest exclusives for the year. What are your thoughts on the delay?”

Thoughts on Days Gone Delay?
-
Anthony Nash
I was never completely blown away by Days Gone, so the game being delayed until 2019 didn’t really move the needle for me. Sony still has a really impressive 2018 lineup, and as long as Spider-Man manages to launch in 2018, the company should be just fine.

Looked like it could be good but 2018 didnt need it all that badly.

I never thought of Days Gone as a 2018 release. While I'm really excited for it (particularly after my last E3 preview) and what the dynamic world might enable players to see and do, it has felt too far "off-the-radar" to be coming out anytime soon. Sony already has a massive slate of 2018 exclusives releasing. The loss of Days Gone is simply pushing off a game that I never expected to release this year anyway. -

Days Gone, and yet, nothing of value lost.

Another zombie game. Meh.

Sony has God of War and Detroit to keep things ticking over until the fall, when I assume Insomniac's Spider-Mangame will be ready for release. So losing Days Gone to 2019 isn't a huge bummer, really.

I have too many games to play this year. So a bump to this doesn't mean much to me, either. -

Honestly? It doesn't mean much to me. Nothing Sony has shown of Days Gone has looked remotely interesting, so hopefully the delay will allow it to morph into something other than yet another generic zombie shooter (or at least their marketing will improve if the game does have something worthwhile in it).

I have zero interest in the game so doesn't bother me. It doesn't look like a system seller so the delay probably won't do harm.
