Devil May Cry 5 E3 2018

Devil May Cry 5 Website Now on Capcom Servers, E3 Announcement Imminent?

Remember earlier this week when we reported that the Devil May Cry 5 domain was registered? The registrar used for the domain is the same one Capcom uses, though that’s not necessarily a smoking gun. Well it turns out that registration definitely wasn’t some random buying up the site. According to gaming journalist and sleuth Mystic on Twitter, devilmaycry5.com is now being hosted on dedicated Capcom servers.

Clicking on the link (or typing in the address) takes you to a 404 page with no website currently found. It’s expected that the website is set to go live during or shortly after an E3 announcement of the game. Mystic went on to explain some of the more technical aspects of the server hosting.

“It’s happening. It’s beyond a done deal.” With those two sentences, Mystic seems quite certain the Devil May Cry 5 is effectively confirmed now. Of course, nothing’s set in stone until the developer announces it officially (and even then, worse things have happened), but this latest bit of evidence lines up with a lot of previous leaks and rumors about Devil May Cry 5 that make the game one of this year’s worst-kept E3 secrets. That’s a hard title to take given the likes of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey leak, the massive Walmart Canada leak, and a number of other information bleeds that leave no surprises for this year’s conferences.

Devil May Cry 5 was leaked late last year as Devil May Cry V, along with a ton of info about the game. The next game in the Devil May Cry series is rumored to be a timed PS4 exclusive, so if there is anywhere to look for a Devil May Cry 5 announcement, it would be to Sony’s stage. Just last month, the voice actor for Virgil may have spilled the beans on it being at E3 with a picture he posted on social media.

With all of the leaks and build up, do you think a Devil May Cry 5 E3 2018 announcement is basically a given at this point?
