Okay, people, Sony is letting everyone know that a variety of major PlayStation 4 games are now going to see a pretty solid price reduction. The platform owner is introducing PlayStation Hits, a list of award-winning PS4 titles and what they are calling ‘family favorites’.
As part of the PlayStation Hits offer these games will carry a price $19.99 USD (MSRP) each on PlayStation Store, and at retailers across the U.S. Over in Canada, PlayStation Hits games are going to range in price, starting at $19.99 CAD (MSRP) each. As far as PlayStation Store deals go, this appears to be just the ticket.
Sony also made it clear that, at retailers, PlayStation Hits games are going to come in red packaging instead of their traditional blue. Over at the PlayStation Store these titles are going to have red banners, which means players can spot them easily as part of the PlaySation Hits lineup.
You can expect the new PlayStation Hits deals program to kick off on June 28 in the U.S. Check out the initial lineup:
- Battlefield 4
- Bloodborne
- Doom
- Metal Gear Solid 5: The Definitive Experience
- Ratchet & Clank
- Street Fighter 5
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Yakuza 0
This is not bad. Not bad at all. Now, I don’t know about you guys, but my PlayStation wallet is heavily drained already, but there’s always room for more (there must be). Honestly, these deals seem like a fine touch by Sony. Definitely going to be picking up some of these.

Expect It to Be Less Punishing to Accommodate More Players
Now, before you cry and exclaim that From has sold out, why not read why From is doing it, no?
In terms of who the game is aimed at, and who we want to capture in terms of the audience, obviously we can’t betray or disappoint the fans out there. They’re very, very important. They’ll be the main ambassadors of the game. [But] we do want more people to share this experience. You died a lot in the previous games, and you had to persevere, but one of our main goals with this game is that we don’t want to focus on punishing the player.

Variations of Time and Weather Will Be in the Game, but Won't Be in Real-Time
Expect weather and time changes in the game, but not in real-time.
Here's what Yamagiwa told us during a chat:
It’s not like it happens in real-time when you play, the sun goes down or something like that. It doesn’t happen. But yes, when you play through the story, there are variations of the weather and the time.
