It may be some time before we can truly see what Henry Cavill does with the role of Geralt of Rivia for Netflix’s The Witcher, but he has someone important in his corner. Doug Cockle, the English voice actor of the titular Witcher, is firmly on board with Superman in the role.
He expressed his opinion, which apparently many had asked him about, via Twitter:
People keep asking… so… let me go on record saying I think that #HenryCavill will do a great job as #GeraltOfRivia ! He’ll make it his own of course, as well he should, and I can’t wait to see what @LHissrich and the whole @netflix team create. It’s gonna be #Magic
The Man of Steel actor was cast as Geralt in early September 2018, after previously expressing his desire for the role. We still don’t know a lot about the upcoming Netflix series, but it is aiming for a 2020 release, so we may be seeing more news coming out. Some alleged casting scripts recently leaked, though they aren’t necessarily indicative of what we’ll see on our screens. While it may be some time before we see a new game in The Witcher series, Cockle is providing the voice of Geralt in the upcoming Soulcalibur VI.

I honestly can’t imagine what else can be done in The Witcher universe, so I’m actually kind of content with it just being a trilogy. If i had to guess on one thing, I’d like to see more Ciri adventures, either with her younger self or not. Also, more Geralt in a bathtub, of course.

I love franchises from a different approach (look at Tales From the Borderlands, for example), so lend the brand to someone else and see what they can come up with to tell a new story and give players exciting new experiences in that same world. It's not like the world isn't rich with lore to pull from, so I'm pretty certain that any foray back into that property is going to be an amazing adventure. I won't be picky about it because expectations ruin reality. -

As long as the world is Yennefer-free, I'm down.

If they want to make something within the same universe, that's cool to me. I just hope it takes place from a very different perspective. Do something surprising and different. Maybe something less action-focused.

I can't fully describe what I'd like them to do without spoiling the games so I'll just say this: Ciri. I'd like a game set in the same universe with her as the protagonist.
