Massive layoffs followed by an official announcement of Telltale Games’ closure had everyone in the industry taken aback. There were questions regarding industry ethics and consumer concerns regarding the rest of The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Now it’s official that these final episodes will see the light of day. Skybound Games, a division of Skybound Entertainment that specializes in publishing indie games, will complete The Walking Dead: The Final Season as stated on Twitter.

This announcement arrived just days after Telltale laid off more of its remaining team. And not long after The Walking Dead: The Final Season was delisted. But this announcement isn’t entirely out of left field as Telltale Games stated they had companies interested in finishing The Final Season.
Further details have yet to be disclosed and some aspects are still being finalized but Skybound Games will be working with members of the original Telltale team to complete the final episodes.
Episode 2 is already out, as was promised by Telltale Games, but there’s currently no timeline for when Skybound will release the next episodes.
