Yesterday, the “live events” were supposed to kick off in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, giving players more reasons to play an already massive game, and of course provide opportunities for some of that good, good epic loot. Unfortunately, the live event was nowhere to be seen yesterday, and issues getting the quest to either appear or function properly seem to be scattered across the playerbase.
Kotaku reported earlier this afternoon that the live events are a day late, and that Ubisoft is working on addressing whatever the problem is. A quote provided to the outlet stated, “the production team is investigating and hopes to have more information on an ETA for a fix.”
After digging around the community a bit more to see if there was more information, I found a thread in Ubisoft’s official Assassin’s Creed Odyssey forums that seems to be causing some confusion about the live event and its status. A few players seemed confused about what the event actually is, some claimed to have claimed the event but found no evidence of it starting in the game, and others don’t see it available at all.
A post from a Ubisoft representative in the thread was similar to the statement the company provided to Kotaku. The post says the following:
To those experiencing issues with live events, the team is aware and actively investigating the matter. We will keep you posted, so be sure to check back in the forums for updates!
This post was from yesterday, which predates the Kotaku article. However, no updates have appeared in the thread yet, save for other users noting the issue in their games as well.
