The Game Awards is a celebration of games, recognizing notable accomplishments in the current year while providing us with a glimpse at what’s coming in the future. 2018 was an amazing year and many of the awards categories ended up being hard fought battles among a number of really great games. You can check out all of those winners if you want to know whether God of War or Red Dead Redemption 2 came out on top.
The Game Awards 2018 reveals were also a huge part of the show, and we got a ton of interesting new trailers. This year featured the most new reveals of any Game Awards, probably at least partially owing to Sony not holding a PSX event to reveal even more things. With those reveals, we knew that there were a few favorites that would bubble up to the top. We asked our staff what their favorite The Game Awards 2018 reveals were, and here’s what they had to say.
The PlayStation Classic has faced a few criticisms, like not including a power adapter, but Sony revealed that it will be compatible with most phone chargers and USB adapters. It will also be a self-contained system with no access to the PSN, so the 20 games you see are what you get.
