Jump Force is out, and hey, while we aren’t super gung-ho about it, there’s no denying there’s an audience for this game. The Shonen Jump roster is a big deal for a reason, and there is definitely a pocket of support for this 50th anniversary fighter out there in the anime and manga community. For what it’s worth, Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft have already showed signs of active support. But that isn’t what this feature is about. This feature is about more characters.
The highs and lows of Jump Force are out there, but what isn’t out there is the DLC. Right now, you can purchase the Jump Force season pass, which promises a total of nine post-launch roster additions. Not a single one has been revealed yet. DLC additions for a roster that is already 40-deep seems like a stretch, but the fact is there are 50 years of history we’re dealing with here and the Jump Force roster barely covers the greatest hits.
What follows all this introductory waffling is my personal list of nine Jump Force DLC characters I’d like to see. Now, if I was being totally selfish, I’d probably put way more Dragon Ball and Yu Yu Hakusho characters in, but I tried to bring some more broad considerations to the table. This roster needs more ladies, for example. I also tried to sneak in some current Shonen Jump series, which will hopefully continue to survive. (There have been lots of cancellations lately). I also snuck in a few favorites, for good measure.
Check out the gallery for my picks:
What do you folks think? Who has been criminally left out of Jump Force, and why should they definitely replace Asta? Let us know in that lovely comments section.

Jump Force DLC: The Wishlist
-
Arale - Dr. Slump
Frankly, it's weird Arale didn't show up in the launch roster. Dr. Slump put Toriyama on the map, and the little robot girl who has totally overpowered Goku at least once has made several other game appearances. There's a precedent here!
-
Denji - Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man is one of Shonen Jump's newest properties, with only ten chapters published as of this writing. While the story immediately following the fun, albeit crass, introduction is a bit disappointing, there's no denying a dude with a chainsaw jutting out of his head fits in a fighting game roster.
-
Clare - Claymore
Claymore is one of the few woman-led Shonen Jump series, and while far from the "big three," it's one of the bigger hits of its time to boot. Clare may even be one of the better fits for Jump Force's uh, more realistic art style.
-
Itadori Yuji - Jujutsu Kaisen
Jujutsu Kaisen is another more recent Shonen Jump series, and it has built quite a bit of momentum. It also has an intriguing premise, with the protagonist and antagonist inhabiting the same body. That could make for some interesting moveset shenanigans.
-
Katsuki Bakugo - My Hero Academia
Considering how huge My Hero Academia is, it's weird that Deku was the only character on the roster. So, let's get a couple more in here. Bakugo is an easy choice, as his status as Deku's rival gives him the same sort of billing as Sasuke or Vegeta.
-
Kefla - Dragon Ball Super
There aren't enough Dragon Ball Super characters on the roster, which really only gets represented in the game via the blue hair and Frieza's golden form. Kefla is an easy pick, both for some more variety in the cast of dudes, and her status as a severe threat during the Tournament of Power arc.
-
Kazuma Kuwabara - Yu Yu Hakusho
I don't have an actual good reason for Kuwabara appearing here over the rest of the Yu Yu Hakusho crew. He's my favorite character and this is my list, so Kuwabara gets a slot. Deal.
-
Senku Ishigami - Dr. Stone
Dr. Stone is the third newbie on the list and is probably (along with The Promised Neverland) the most popular of its bunch. Senku would especially be an interesting addition to the roster, as he'd be more of a "trickster" sort of character who would use items and ways to attack indirectly, as he isn't a physical fighter.
-
Tomura Shigaraki - My Hero Academia
We needed at least one villain on the list and again, My Hero Academia deserves to be up there with the big three. Shigaraki also has a super cool look and an interesting power set that could translate to some awesome special attacks in the game.
-
Ochaco Uraraka - My Hero Academia
One more My Hero Academia character rounds out our list. Not only is Uraraka (hero name Uravity) an interesting character with a strong backstory in the series, but her gravity-based powers would fit the Jump Force combat style pretty well.
