citadel forged with fire release date

Become a Master Sorcerer in Online Open World RPG Citadel: Forged With Fire in October

Over two years after announcing console versions, developer Blue Isle Studios (Slender: The Arrival) has unveiled a release date for open-world RPG Citadel: Forged With Fire. The online sandbox title will receive a full launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on October 11, 2019. Worldwide digital and retail releases are planned, with a price tag of $39.99 attached. Preorders have already gone live.

Citadel: Forged With Fire entered Steam Early Access quite some time ago, allowing the Blue Isle development team to release upwards of 90 patches and three major content updates. As such, the studio has worked closely with its online community to ensure the RPG is at its best when launch day arrives. According to the studio’s Managing Director, Alex Tintor, “three huge boss dungeons, the refinement of our broomstick flight and addition of the Broomstick Sports combined with enhancements to our spell crafting system will envelop players into this magical realm.”

Yes, you read that correctly, “Broomstick Sports.” To an extent, it kind of looks and sounds similar to Quidditch. See a brief tease of it and get good look at gameplay in the RPG’s latest trailer below:

With Citadel: Forged With Fire, players explore the magical world of Ignus and decide their own destiny. In aligning themselves with others online, players will build a House which may eventually lead to dominion over the entirety of Ignus. Everyone has to start somewhere, though, “greatness from small beginnings” and all that. Therefore, plenty of work must be done before Ignus succumbs to anyone’s command. This is where the world’s magical qualities come enter into the picture.

The sandbox RPG will feature a whole host of magical abilities, spellcasting, flight, enchanting wands and weapons, and magical beast taming are but a few examples. In bettering their magical prowess and orchestrating the building of an empire, Citadel: Forged With Fire will also see players build castles. All of this and more will be at every adventurer’s fingertips when exploring and settling in the title’s lush fantasy world, which is said to be 36 square kilometers in size.
