Atlus Will Host a Persona 5 Royal Stream Next Week With Live Gameplay and New Info

Eager Persona fans who’ve been patiently waiting for Atlus to further lift the veil on Persona 5 Royal will soon be in luck. The company’s first Persona 5 Royal live stream is incoming, slated to kick off on August 2nd at 8 pm JST/6 am CST. Atlus plans to host the stream on its official YouTube channel, with MC Chiaki Matsuzawa, freelance writer Mafia Kajita, and Producer Kazuhisa Wada expected to appear.

Specifics about what will be shown on stream are at present being kept under wraps, though live gameplay is indeed supposed to play a part. Fans will have to wait for the live stream itself to learn exactly what that entails. New bits of information are also expected to surface from the early August broadcast; however, specifics remain secret on this front, as well.

While it is another version of Atlus’ much beloved Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal aims to offer a wholly different experience. The enhanced iteration will be rich with features, evidenced by the many new additions. One includes a brand-new party member, Kasumi, who is said to act against the Phantom Thieves. Moreover, fans should expect changes to the soundtrack lineup, as 20 additional songs will feature in Persona 5 Royal.

There are plenty of other ways to invest in the franchise before the next entry hits store shelves. For one, two new Persona-centric art books are on their way, featuring the works of series artist Shigenori Soejima. Both are available for preorder now, and scheduled to release this fall on October 29th. In a few weeks, Soejima will also take part in the premiere of an art exhibit in Los Angeles, which will showcase a host of art pieces from Atlus’ latest projects, Catherine: Full Body and Persona 5 Royal.

Persona 5 Royal will launch for the PlayStation 4 in Japan on October 31st. Meanwhile, the enhanced Persona 5 title is scheduled to come westward on an unspecified date in 2020.
