Here Are the August 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games

It’s that time, again, friends. Sony has announced the two games that will be available for PlayStation Plus members in August 2019. And hopefully these titles will create a little less outcry than the month prior. Both the WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4 will be available for free beginning August 6, 2019.

For starters, the WipEout Omega Collection brings together two entries in the futuristic WipEout series: WipEout HD (and its HD Fury expansion) and WipEout 2048. With plenty of anti-gravity action in 26 tracks, plus solo and multiplayer play, there’s a lot to drive through. Of course, you’ll also be able to experience the thrills of WipEout VR, as well. While PlayStation Plus doesn’t offer any VR-exclusive games at this time, PSVR owners will definitely get something out of this month’s crop.

In addition, the second title available is Sniper Elite 4. As a skilled sniper assassin, you’ll have to take down your enemies, ideally as covertly as possible. From scouting locales and determining the best way to kill, to setting up traps, there’s plenty to do in this stealthy adventure. Sniper Elie 4 also comes with an online co-op campaign that allows you to execute your missions with a friend. In addition, there’s a dedicated set of co-op missions designed for anywhere from two to four players.

We reviewed both games positively, so there definitely isn’t a lack of quality here. We called the WipEout Omega Collection “all the WipEout goodness a fan could want,” while we thought Sniper Elite 4 was a “true sniper’s sandbox.”

As a reminder, you have until August 5, 2019 to download Detroit: Become Human and Horizon Chase Turbo. The former was a last-minute pick after it replaced the previously-announced Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. Hopefully the same thing won’t happen this month.
