Watch Dogs: Legion‘s Bloodline DLC is available now. The standalone expansion reintroduces Watch_Dog’s Aiden Pierce and the sequel’s Wrench in a new story arc. The DLC was accompanied by Title Update 5.0, which introduces Operative mask options amongst a plethora of bug fixes and general gameplay improvements.
Set before the events of the main game, Bloodline once again puts players in the shoes of Aiden Pearce from Watch_Dogs and Wrench from Watch Dogs 2. Aiden takes on a routine fixer job in London and aims to reconnect with his nephew, Jackson. The job sends him into one of Broca Tech’s laboratories to steal a mysterious piece of technology, but Wrench unexpectedly steals the device instead. Aiden needs to team up with Jackson to take on the corporate giant but Wrench’s unpredictability won’t make things easy.
The DLC was originally due to be released in June and arrives a little later than planned. It can be purchased separately or as part of the game’s Season Pass. Season Pass owners will also be able to play as both characters in the main game or online modes, and each will come with their own special abilities:
- Aiden Pearce comes with:
- Focus: Slow-mo aiming after takedown
- System Crash: Disable electronics in the area
- Gunslinger: Well-timed reload buffs damage
- Wrench comes with:
- Summon Sergei: summons a Custom Drone
- Ninja Balls: Mini LTL Flashbangs
- Lady Smash: a Big Custom Hammer
- MPX SMG and LTL Grenade Launcher: custom skins on unique weapon arsenal
The DLC was accompanied by Title Update 5.0. Not only did the update add the groundwork for the DLC, it also added Operative mask options and a range of other bug fixes and improvements. The patch notes can be seen below.

Gameplay
Operative Mask Toggle
– Added a setting in the wardrobe that determines how an Operative wears their mask.
- Auto = Default behavior, operative will put on the mask in combat and restricted areas.
- Always ON = Operative will always wear their mask
- Always OFF = Operative will never wear their mask
– This is set on a per operative basis.
Developer Comment
Masks! They are fun, they look cool, and now you have more direct control over when your operative’s wear ’em. Or maybe not wear ’em. It is up to you! This has long been a request from both fans and us devs alike, and we are really happy with the additional customization this allows. We hope you dig it as much as we do!
Improved Operative Bio (Dynamic Primary Line)
- An operative’s primary bio line will now dynamically display important recent memories.
- Added over 15 operative memories that trigger in more systemic ways (not mission related).
- Fixed an issue that caused low priority memories to be displayed too frequently.
Developer Comment:
As we continue to bolster the Operative Bio feature, we wanted to make the actions you take with operatives even more visible. That is the intent with the dynamic primary bio line (right under an operative’s name in the Team Menu), which will now update with recent and important memories. In addition, we also added a few memories that can happen more organically, outside of missions.
