Just in case there were any doubts about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s reveal trailer, an Insomniac Games’ developer has confirmed that last week’s PlayStation Showcase video was running real time on the PlayStation 5.
Following the event, many people assumed that Spider-Man 2‘s trailer was all CGI, which Lead VFX artist Bryanna Lindsey has confirmed isn’t the case. She tweeted:

This of course does not mean that an early trailer is representative of the final product, but if Insomniac Games’ track record is any indication, fans certainly have no reason to worry. Rest assured, Spider-Man 2 will look and play like a dream. The studio has already said that it’ll push the capabilities of the PlayStation 5.
“While pushing the capabilities of the console will be very exciting, we’re equally pumped to craft all-new stories for Peter and Miles in this sequel,” Insomniac Games wrote on the PlayStation Blog. “Just as in our previous Spider-Man games, we not only want to tell a great Super Hero story, but also deliver a compelling human story, one full of heart and humor that dives deep into the people behind the mask. [The PlayStation Showcase] game footage trailer is merely just a glimpse at what’s in store in terms of the new abilities our heroes will acquire, suits they will wear (more on that some other time), and the villains that will try to hunt them down.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will release in 2023.
