D3 Publisher and Sandlot revealed in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu that Earth Defense Force 6 will release for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Additionally, the game’s release window of 2021 has been pushed to 2022 in Japan. A Western release has yet to be announced.
Earth Defense Force 6 was first announced in June 2020 via the Japanese PlayStation Blog, but specific platforms weren’t announced until now. The story revolves around a lone soldier who continues to fight beyond the events of Earth Defense Force 5. It is assumed that he’s the soldier once known as Storm 1.

2024. Humanity won the war against the unknown invaders that lasted two years. The Primers were driven away and silence returned to the Earth.
