According to journalist and insider Jeff Grubb, this footage is a few weeks old. He recons that it’s the Xbox One X version based on the frame rate, and thinks a low-quality capture hardware has been used. Nevertheless, people have had mixed reactions to the leak, with some expressing disappointing as others remain confident that the final product will meet expectations, especially on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
After a lengthy wait, Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware released an Elden Ring gameplay trailer in June alongside announcing a January 21, 2022 release date. Those who purchase Elden Ring on the PS4 and Xbox One will be entitled to a free upgrade on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, respectively.
Elden Ring is set in a world called Lands Between, which players will be able to explore on foot or on horseback. The setting features fantastical landscapes and dungeons that are “connected seamlessly.” Lands Between is a joint effort by acclaimed fantasy author George R. R. Martin and FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki.
