During yesterday’s DC FanDome 2021 livestream (watch the recap here), WB Games Montreal released a new story trailer as well as behind-the-scenes video for Gotham Knights, highlighting antagonist Court of Owls and its origins.
Watch the trailer below, which also introduces Oswald Cobblepot (The Penguin), described as the villain who “seemingly knows important details about this omnipresent silent predator and the threat it poses to Gotham and its new guard of DC Super Heroes – Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin.”
The behind-the-scenes video below features commentary from Jim Lee (Comic Book Artist, Publisher & Chief Creative Officer at DC), Scott Snyder (Writer & Co-Creator of “The Court of Owls”), Greg Capullo (Comic Book Artist & Co-Creator of “The Court of Owls”), Patrick Redding (Gotham Knights Creative Director, Warner Bros. Games Montréal) and Ann Lemay (Gotham Knights Narrative Director, Warner Bros. Games Montréal), who discuss Court of Owls lore, origins, and much more.
Gotham Knights is in development for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It’s scheduled to release sometime in 2022.

Gotham Knights is a brand-new open world, third-person action RPG featuring the Batman Family as players step into the roles of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin, a new guard of trained DC Super Heroes who must rise up as the protectors of Gotham City in the wake of Batman’s death. An expansive, criminal underworld has swept through the streets of Gotham, and it is now up to these new heroes to protect the city, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops and fear to its criminals. Players must save Gotham from descent into chaos and reinvent themselves into their own version of the Dark Knight.
