iLLOGIKA is developing a game set in the universe of Paramount Pictures’ sci-fi horror franchise A Quiet Place. Saber Interactive is publishing the title, which is due to be released next year on unspecified platforms (and is not to be confused with the unrelated Eiyuden Chronicle companion game of the same name).
John Krasinki’s A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II, upon which the game will be based, are set in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by lethal aliens who may be blind but are extremely sensitive to sound. Most of the human population is killed and the remaining survivors struggle to exist in a world that must be soundproofed for fear of attracting the creatures’ attention. The two films tell the story of a family who communicate using sign language and attempt to fight back against the creatures, but Saber Interactive promises the A Quiet Place game will tell an original story in this universe, rather than following the one we’ve already seen.
Few other details are available about A Quiet Place, although it will have “gameplay that captures the compelling suspense, emotion, and drama for which the series is famous,” which sure sounds like stealth horror, if we had to guess. Saber Interactive head of publishing Todd Hollenshead said:
The amazing success of the A Quiet Place movies makes it clear audiences are hungry for more adventures in this universe, and iLLOGIKA is creating their own truly engaging experience that lives up to the name of this beloved property.
While Saber Interactive is known for their own horror titles like World War Z and the upcoming Evil Dead: The Game, they’ve been acquiring studios to create their own little publishing empire. The most recent acquisitions were SmartPhone Labs, Demiurge Studios, and Fractured Byte, but Saber Interactive now owns a total of 16 studios. However, iLLOGIKA is an independent developer, meaning A Quiet Place will be the first game developed by an external studio to be published by Saber Interactive.
A Quiet Place is set to be released in 2022, although we don’t know for certain whether or not it will appear on consoles. Saber Interactive promises there will be more information later on this year.
