Sony will be adding four new titles to their PlayStation Now service for December 2021. We already knew that Grand Theft Auto III: The Definitive Edition and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster would be added this month, but these two are also joined by John Wick Hex and Spitlings.
Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition is just one of three games recently released as part of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The remastered edition of the 20-year-old PlayStation 2 game features enhanced visuals including 4K-resolution support with up to 60 frames per second performance on PlayStation 5, as well as a GTA V-inspired controller layout, improved gunplay, newly supported languages, and new trophies.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is the fourth of five Final Fantasy games to join PlayStation Now and is another PlayStation 2 remaster. Final Fantasy X takes place in the world of Spira. The world’s inhabitants are terrorised by a monster known as Sin, but according to the temple of Yevon, this monster is just the physical representation of the sins of mankind. Joined by her guardian Tidus, Yuna heads out on a pilgrimage to defeat Sin. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy X-2 takes place two years after the world has entered the period known as the Eternal Calm. This time Yuna teams up with Rikku and Paine to become a Sphere Hunter.
Unsurprisingly, John Wick Hex put players in the shoes of John Wick in a “choreographed chess brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun-fu style while expanding its story universe.” The game’s story is set before the events of the John Wick movies, and John has to track down Hex after he kidnaps Winston and Charon. Finally, Spitlings is a multiplayer arena game where up to four players become spitlings, who can spit their teeth at bubbles to burst them. The aim is to burst all of the bubbles in the arena before time runs out.
All of the games will be available in PlayStation Now from tomorrow, December 7. All but one seem to be permanent additions to the service, the exception being Grand Theft Auto III: The Definitive Edition that is only available on PlayStation Now until January 31, 2022, a period of less than two months. However, bear in mind some games will also be leaving the service tomorrow. Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, and Slay the Spire are all due to be removed on December 7.
