Telltale Games announced The Wolf Among Us 2 during The Game Awards back in 2019, but we’ve barely heard anything about the title since then except reassurances that it still exists. This year, Telltale did show up at The Game Awards once again, but with a different title instead: The Expanse, which is being developed in collaboration with Life Is Strange studio, Deck Nine. So where the heck is The Wolf Among Us 2? According to the studio, its developers are still “hard at work” on the title.
“Back in December of 2019, we revealed TWAU2 going into pre-production. The team is hard at work, but you may have noticed we did not have anything new to say about it for The Game Awards,” Telltale wrote on its website. “We know that you, our fans, have been incredibly patient and supportive. We also know that you’ve got a BUNCH of questions about what’s happening at Telltale (and in Fabletown) — we see them every day in social media. Good news is that we will be able to answer some of your questions soon…”
“Soon” means a couple of weeks. Telltale is making an appearance in issue 342 of Game Informer, in which it’ll discuss its games, new engine, and rebuilding the studio following its high-profile collapse. Telltale signed off its post by teasing “something else you can really sink your teeth into early next year.”
