Netflix’s The Witcher season 2 only went live on December 17th, but if you’re one of those who’ve already binged it, you’ll be pleased to note that the script for season 3 is almost done. That’s the good news. The bad news? The creative process is only just starting so it’ll be a while before we see the next season. But hey, at least we’ve learned to navigate the pandemic now.
“Actually, this is our last week [December 3] in the writers’ room,” showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich told TechRadar in an exclusive interview. “We’re almost done with the scripting phase, and it’s amazing. I’m really thrilled with how the season is shaping up because it’s based on my favorite book in the saga, which is The Time of Contempt.”
Hissrich teased that The Witcher‘s first and second season have laid the groundwork for “everything huge that’s about to happen.”
“The creative process is now really just starting,” Hissrich continued. “We have the scripts, and now we’ll bring directors on, the actors back in, and really start delving in deeper and reflecting back and making sure that it’s the perfect season.”
I’ve only finished four episodes of The Witcher season 2 but I already feel like it’s a huge improvement over the first season, especially in terms of pacing. What do our readers think of season 2 so far?
