Watch Dogs: Legion Post-Launch Support Comes to an End

Ubisoft has officially pulled the plug on Watch Dogs: Legion, announcing that title update 5.6 was the game’s final update. In a lengthy letter to fans, the developer thanked the game’s community for its support and offered a recap of all the content it released since launch in October 2020.

You’d think Watch Dogs: Legion‘s final update would be a significant one, but unfortunately, it only brought with it minor bug fixes and improvements for the Spiderbot Arena, user interface, and visuals. The game’s fourth season ended yesterday but you still have Season 5: Stripes to look forward to.

What’s next for Watch Dogs: Legion online play

After Season 5: Stripes, Watch Dogs: Legion will cycle between Seasons 3 and 5, giving you the opportunity to unlock rewards you missed out on previously. It doesn’t look like Ubisoft plans to release any further bug fixes and improvement patches, and it’s unclear how long the game’s servers will stay online.

“The game has grown by leaps and bounds, with a ton of content to explore, from a sprawling near future city to an action-packed Online Mode,” the developer wrote. “We couldn’t be prouder of the game we’ve created, and we appreciate all of you who’ve joined us on this journey in London over the year.”

That Watch Dogs: Legion‘s post-launch support has ended a little over a year after it launched doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. While Ubisoft is known to support its games for years on end, Watch Dogs: Legion got a lukewarm reception and didn’t fare as well as the company’s other IPs.

In other news, Horizon Forbidden West‘s PS5 version is almost 86 GB and it’ll have a single “strong and impactful” ending.
