Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann has confirmed that the studio has three new projects in development, but we’re not sure if they’re actually “new” projects or new remasters/remakes. Over on Twitter, Naughty Dog advertised numerous job opportunities that Druckmann retweeted, telling potential candidates that there are three undisclosed projects for them to work on.
Is Naughty Dog working on new IP?
We already know that Naughty Dog is working on a multiplayer project, which is probably the much-awaited standalone online portion of The Last of Us (aka Factions). The other two projects are anybody’s guess, but according to reports from known insiders, at least one of the projects is yet another remake of The Last of Us. This time, for the PlayStation 5. A director’s cut of The Last of Part II has also been rumored. So while these could potentially make up the three projects Druckmann teased on Twitter, don’t lose hope just yet. Rumors are just that… rumors. There’s still a glimmer of hope that the rumored remake and director’s cut are being handled by a support studio while Naughty Dog works on a new IP (or two).

Opinion: New Naughty Dog games, please!
Zarmena writes… Look, The Last of Us is an awesome franchise (and yes, I loved Part II) but we really need to give it a rest. The first game has been remastered enough, the second game can be played on the PS5 via backwards compatibility, and we have a show coming up on HBO. Naughty Dog is an extremely talented studio and going back to the same old franchises is an utter waste of that talent. Give us something new, please!
In other news, Horizon Forbidden West’s activities look impressive, and Bloodborne’s PSX “demake” has become an instant hit.
